Art in Nature

An arts-based program for adults 18 and up living with spinal cord injury or other neuro-muscular diseases. This program connects the creative art process to the mindful qualities of nature for spiritual, emotional and mental wellness. Meets on the 1st and 3rd Fridays each month in 2023. Garden Connections

A group for adults 18 and up recovering from a stroke or similar brain disorder resulting in mild to moderate physical or cognitive deficits. Each session focuses on socializing, horticulture education, engaging in a hands-on activity and enjoying a garden-inspired snack. Caregivers are welcome. This half-day Health and Wellness opportunity is organized by Shepherd Center’s Rec Therapy Department and hosted by Trellis at the Ability Garden at Callanwolde. The program serves adults diagnosed with spinal cord, brain injury, stroke and other neurological diagnoses and introduces participants to horticulture and gardening for overall health & wellness.
